Tracxn for HubSpot Integration Setup & User Guide

HubSpot is an all-in-one cloud CRM, sales, and marketing platform.

The Tracxn - HubSpot integration allows you to seamlessly push company data from Tracxn directly into your HubSpot CRM. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of installing, configuring, using, and uninstalling the Tracxn integration for HubSpot.

1. Prerequisites & Before You Begin

Before initiating the setup, ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • Tracxn Account: You must have an active free Tracxn subscription to access the HubSpot integration.

  • HubSpot Permissions: You must have Super Admin or App Marketplace Access permissions in your HubSpot portal to authorise the installation.

2. Installation Step-by-Step

To link your Tracxn account to your HubSpot CRM, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Tracxn: Go to tracxn.com and log in to your platform dashboard.

  2. Open a Company Detail page and click Add to CRM:

    1. In the global search bar at the top, search for a company and open the company detail page.

3. In the company details page, click “Add to CRM”. Select HubSpot CRM and click “Connect & Set as Default.”

4. HubSpot OAuth Authorisation: You will be securely redirected to HubSpot. If you manage multiple portals, select the HubSpot account you wish to integrate.

5. Approve Permissions (Scopes): Review the requested permissions (which include reading/writing Company properties to facilitate the data push). Click Connect App to authorize the integration.

5. Confirmation: Once successful, you will be redirected back to the Tracxn platform with a success banner reading "Your HubSpot Account Has Been Connected Successfully".

3. Configuration & Data Mapping (Optional)

Once connected, you can configure how Tracxn fields sync with HubSpot fields:

  1. In the Connection success modal above, click Customise Fields to customise properties to be pushed to HubSpot, or else click Skip for now to keep the basic selections. The properties can be updated later from the Settings tab.

2. To Customise fields to be pushed, go to Profile > Settings > CRM, and click on Customise Default Fields. Select the required fields to be pushed and click Save.

4. User Journey: How to Use the Integration

The main value of the integration is to seamlessly push curated startup and private market data into HubSpot without manual data entry.

  1. In the company details page, click the Add to HubSpot button.

2. The platform will instantly validate if the company already exists in your CRM (using the domain name). If it's a new entity, a rich HubSpot Company Record will be created automatically with a success popper and a View button.

3. Click View to open the HubSpot page for the pushed company in a new tab.

5. Uninstallation & Disconnecting the App

If you no longer require the integration, you can remove it safely from HubSpot.

  1. In your HubSpot portal, click the Marketplace icon in the top navigation bar, then select Connected Apps.

  2. Locate the Tracxn app from the list.

  3. Click Actions on the right side of the card, and select Uninstall.

  4. Type "uninstall" in the confirmation box and click Confirm.

Data Impact after Uninstallation:

  • Existing Data stays intact: Any company profiles, funding information, and custom properties that were already pushed into HubSpot will remain in your HubSpot portal. They will not be deleted.

  • Stopping Sync: Once uninstalled, the "Push to HubSpot" buttons on Tracxn will be deactivated, and no further data transfers will occur between the two platforms.
