How stages are assigned
A company stage is assigned to a company based on the following parameters:
a. If the company is funded or not
b. If funded, at what funding stage it is at (Seed, Series A, Series B, etc)
c. If the company has exited or suspended its operation
Company Stage Classification
Companies on Tracxn are grouped into the following categories:
Unfunded: Companies are those that have not raised external funding.
Funded: Companies are categorized based on their latest funding stage.This includes:
🔹 Seed companies are those that have raised early-stage funding, typically as their first institutional investment round.
🔹 Early-Stage Funded companies typically include companies that have raised Series A or Series B funding rounds.
🔹 Late-Stage Funded companies include companies that have raised funding rounds from Series C to Series M.
Companies marked as Funding Raised are known to have received funding, but detailed funding round information may not be available.
Public: Companies listed on public stock exchanges.
Acquired or Acqui-Hired: Companies that have exited through acquisitions.
Deadpooled: Companies that have shut down operations.
Bootstrapped companies: Businesses that are built and grown using the founders’ own funds and internal revenue, without relying on external investment.
