Sectors on the Tracxn platform refer to the broad categories that companies are grouped into Online and Offline. These sectors are further divided into specific sub-sectors called "Feeds."

The categorization of companies depends on their type and industry focus as mentioned below

Tech Sectors (Practice Areas)

  • Tech Sectors are companies which primarily operate online in the technology industry.

  • For instance, within the Tech Sector of Enterprise Applications, you can find feeds such as Enterprise Collaboration, Sales Force Automation, MarketingTech, HRTech, Business Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Enterprise Resource Planning, and more.

Offline Sectors (Industries)

  • Offline Sectors represent industries categorised by the goods and services they offer, with a primary offline mode of operation.

  • For example, within the Energy sector - there are feeds such as Hydro Power, Solar Energy, Wind Energy, Oilfield Services, etc.

  • You can find the list of Offline Sectors and their respective Feeds from the Products > Sectors, Geos, Teams & More > Offline Sectors.

Trending in Sectors

  • Trending in Sectors highlights companies in hot and trending in the market. These sectors are identified based on signals such as entrepreneurial activity, recent funding activity, etc.

  • For Example: Novel Foods - is one of the many trending themes picked from multiple business models in the Food Tech space as there has been a significant increase in the funding activity in the last 3 years.

  • You can find the list of Tech Sectors and their respective Feeds from the Products > Sectors, Geos, Teams & More > Trending in Sectors.

Waves disrupting Sectors

  • Waves are “interesting technologies” that are disrupting industries causing an impact in different sectors and sub-sectors.

  • For example, IoT companies that are impacting various industries such as Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing, etc, can be viewed under ‘Internet of Things - Industry Applications’

  • You can access Waves from the Home Page under Products > Sectors, Geos, Teams & More > Waves disrupting Sectors.
