Security & data access
Two authentication methods — OAuth for browser-based user logins, API tokens for programmatic access. Both follow industry-standard security practices.
OAuth — Tracxn never sees your AI client's credentials, and your AI client never sees your Tracxn password.
API tokens — tokens are tied to your account and inherit your account's permissions. Never share tokens or commit them to version control. Regenerate immediately if you suspect compromise.
Data residency — all queries are processed by Tracxn's servers. No Tracxn data is stored by the AI client beyond what's shown in the conversation.
Revoke anytime — disconnect the integration in your AI client, regenerate your API token, or revoke OAuth grants from Tracxn settings to immediately end access.
Troubleshooting
"Connection failed" or "Invalid URL"
Verify you've copied the Tracxn MCP URL exactly, with no trailing spaces
Check your network — corporate firewalls may block MCP endpoints. Whitelist the Tracxn MCP domain
"Not authorized" / "401 Unauthorized"
Your Tracxn session may have expired. Disconnect and reconnect to re-authenticate.
Confirm your Tracxn plan includes MCP access.
"No tools available" after connecting
Restart your AI client — some clients need a restart after the first OAuth completion
Check that you completed the full OAuth flow (browser redirect back to the client)
Tools show up but queries return errors
Confirm your subscription covers the data you're querying (e.g., financials may require a higher tier)
Try a simpler query first ("find Razorpay on Tracxn") to isolate the issue
OAuth login fails or browser doesn't open
Try logging in to Tracxn directly in your browser first, then retry the MCP connection
Disable any browser extensions that block popups or redirects
