The Comparables section helps you benchmark a company against other major players operating in the same or closely related sectors. These are companies that operate in similar markets or competing sectors, allowing you to understand how the company performs relative to its peers.
How you can use it?
The Compare feature allows you to analyze multiple companies side-by-side across a wide range of business and financial metrics.
Where you can find the compare feature?
At the top of this section, you will find the Compare option. Clicking this opens a separate comparison tab where you can add multiple companies and analyze them side-by-side. While the compare feature is also available in the Financials section, the comparison tool here provides a broader overview of multiple company metrics together, making it useful when you want a more comprehensive comparison across companies.
The Comparables section is organized into three structured tables, each focusing on a different type of market activity.
IPOs
The section shows companies that went public in similar sectors or markets. It allows you to study how comparable companies performed at the time of their public listing.
The table includes information such as IPO date, company location, sector, stock ticker, issue price at IPO, market capitalization at IPO, revenue at IPO, and valuation ratios such as P/S or P/E when available.
You can refine the results using filters such as Period, Location, and Sector, allowing you to focus on IPOs from specific markets or timeframes. There is also an option to Show transactions with ratios, which displays additional valuation metrics where available.
Acquisitions
The Acquisitions table shows companies in similar sectors that have been acquired. This helps you understand recent acquisition activity and exit patterns within the market.
For each acquisition, you can see details such as acquisition date, company location, sector, acquiring company, stake acquired, acquisition price, and acquisition multiples where available.
Filters such as Period, Location, and Sector help narrow down the acquisition dataset to specific regions or industries. You can also enable the option Show transactions with multiples to view valuation multiples when that information is available.
Equity Funding Rounds
The Equity Funding Rounds table highlights recent funding rounds of comparable companies operating in similar sectors.
This table includes details such as funding date, company location, sector, round name (Seed, Series A, Series B, etc.), funding amount, valuation, and investors involved in the round. This makes it easier to track how similar companies are raising capital and at what stages.
You can filter the dataset using options such as Period, Location, Sector, and Round Name, allowing you to focus on specific funding stages or geographic regions. Similar to acquisitions, you can enable Show transactions with multiples to view additional valuation metrics where available.
Across all three tables, you also have the option to Customize Columns, allowing you to add or remove metrics depending on the specific insights you want to analyze.
