Understand Funding & Investors of a company

Updated today

The Funding & Investors section helps you understand how the company has raised capital and which investors have backed it over time. This section is divided into two main views - Funding Rounds and Investors:

Funding Rounds

Here you get complete funding history of the company. Each funding round includes important details such as the date of the round, round name (for example Seed, Series A, Series B), revenue information where available, participating investors, and facilitators involved in the transaction.

- You may also notice a toggle option called Exclude Grants. When this option is enabled, grant-based funding is removed from the table so that you can focus only on equity funding rounds.

This view helps you quickly understand how frequently the company has raised funding, how the round sizes have evolved, and which investors participated across different stages of the company’s growth.

Investors

The Investors view shows the list of investors that have backed the company. You can switch between different investor categories such as Venture Capital, Private Equity, Angel investors, and Other Institutions to better understand the type of investors supporting the company.

The table contains several useful metrics to evaluate investor activity:

🔹 Investor Name – Name of the investor or investment firm that participated in the funding rounds.

🔹 Investor Representative / Board Member – Shows the representative from the investor’s side who is associated with the company.

🔹 Rounds Invested – Number of funding rounds in which the investor has participated for this company.

🔹 Investment Status – Indicates whether the investor is still active in the company or has exited their position.

🔹 Active Date – The date when the investor first became involved in the company.

🔹 Other Portfolio Companies – Displays other companies in which the investor has invested, helping you understand the investor’s broader portfolio.

🔹 Portfolio Key Metrics – Shows the outcomes within the investor’s portfolio, such as the number of IPOs, acquisitions, and unicorn companies backed by the investor.

🔹 Investment Score – A proprietary score that ranks an investor based on their overall investment performance on the Tracxn platform. This score is calculated by comparing investors across factors such as investment quality, number of investments, and successful exits. Investors with stronger portfolios and higher exit success generally receive higher scores.
