What is Tracxn MCP?

Connecting Tracxn MCP to Your AI Tool

Tracxn MCP gives you access to the full Tracxn platform — companies, funding rounds, investors, M&A, cap tables, financials, and more — directly from your favorite AI assistant.

This guide walks you through connecting Tracxn MCP to all major AI clients, so you can ask questions, run research, and pull insights from Tracxn without leaving your AI workflow.

What is Tracxn MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants securely connect to external data sources. With Tracxn MCP, any MCP-compatible AI tool can search Tracxn's database of millions of companies, funding rounds, and market signals using natural language.

What you can do once connected:

  • Search for companies by sector, geography, stage, or custom criteria

  • Pull funding histories and investor profiles

  • Track recent M&A, IPOs, and market activity

  • Generate research reports grounded in real Tracxn data

Officially supported AI clients:

Consumer AI tools (OAuth):

  • Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

  • ChatGPT (all plans, including free)

  • Cursor (all plans, including free)

  • Gemini CLI

In-house AI platforms and custom integrations (API token):

  • Your organization's internal AI platform or LLM

  • Microsoft Copilot Studio

  • Any MCP-compatible client built using the MCP SDK

Before you begin

You'll need:

  • An active Tracxn subscription with MCP access enabled

  • Your Tracxn login credentials (for OAuth), or an MCP API token from your Tracxn settings (for in-house AI platforms)

  • The AI client of your choice (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) — works on free and paid tiers

Tracxn MCP Server URL

Use this URL when configuring any MCP client:

None:
https://platform.tracxn.com/mcp

Tracxn MCP supports two authentication methods:

  • OAuth — for consumer AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor. You'll log in with your Tracxn credentials in your browser the first time you connect.

API token — for in-house AI platforms and MCP clients that don't support OAuth. Generate a token from Integrations → AI Integration → Tracxn MCP → Manage.
