What is the Tracxn MCP Connector?
Tracxn has built a connector using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) - an open standard for connecting AI models to external data sources. This connector lets Claude directly fetch live data from Tracxn's database inside the chat window, without users leaving Claude or manually navigating the Tracxn platform.
In plain terms |
Ask Claude a question about any company - Claude fetches the answer from Tracxn's verified database in real time. |
Why this matters
When users ask general-purpose AI tools for company insights, the data is often outdated or unreliable - drawn from public web crawls. The Tracxn MCP connector solves this by routing Claude's responses through Tracxn's structured, verified intelligence.
10 Available Data Tools
The connector exposes 10 tools that Claude can call on your behalf:
Tool | What It Retrieves |
load_prompts | Loads instructions and prompt templates that guide how Claude uses the MCP |
search_companies | Search and fetch detailed company information by name or domain |
search_legal_entities | Search and retrieve legal entity details linked to companies |
search_funding_rounds | Search funding round history, amounts, and investors |
search_acquisitions | Search acquisition records and deal details |
search_investors | Search investor profiles and portfolio data |
search_ipo_events | Search IPO events and public market history |
search_time_series | Search historical data - financials and employee growth |
search_locations | Search and filter companies by geographic location |
search_sectors | Search and filter companies by industry sector |
resolve_entities | Resolves a company website to Tracxn’s internal entity ID - used to link external domains to the correct Tracxn record |
Example Prompts
Once connected, you can ask Claude questions like:
"Give me details about DoorDash from Tracxn" |
"How much money has Stripe raised in total?" |
"Who are the investors in Razorpay?" |
"Show me Zomato's revenue and profit growth year on year" |
"When did Grab go public and at what valuation?" |

Troubleshooting
🔹 Tools not discovered after connecting
Disconnect and reconnect from Settings → Connectors. Clear browser cache and cookies, then retry.
🔹 Authentication loop or OAuth error
Ensure you're logged into platform.tracxn.com in the same browser before clicking Connect.
🔹 Claude giving generic answers instead of Tracxn data
Check the connector shows Configure (not Connect) in settings. Disable web search for cleaner results.
